Return assistance to hurricane Matthew displaced households

Post Matthew assistance, from October 2016 to September 2017, 1,845 households from 28 sites have returned to their neighborhoods of origin thanks to the support of the government and its partners.

From the total households, 1,570 were assisted in the Grande Anse Department and 275 in the South.

This map shows the displaced households from hurricane Matthew that had received tailored shelter support to return to their places of origin from October 2016 to September 2017.

36 displacement sites remain open in the ongoing cyclone season. From all the open sites, 25 sites (hosting around 450 families) remain non-targeted by partners for return assistance.

Further support is needed from partners to ensure these families can return.
